My husband, Oktay is 37 years old, a father of two wonderful children and a military man dedicated to his family and his profession.

Over the summer, our lives were upended. After a serious illness, Oktay was diagnosed with a colon tumor. Surgery immediately followed, but our hope was short-lived. The recovery period revealed the worst - the cancer was extremely aggressive and had already metastasized.

The doctors at the MMA recommended treatment abroad as the only chance for salvation. We went immediately to Johns Hopkins Anadolu Sağlik Merkezi in Istanbul, where he has already undergone his first immunotherapy.

The treatment offers hope, but is extremely expensive - it lasts a year, with therapy every 21 days, each costing 5,000 euros. The amount is prohibitive for our family, and time is of the essence - any delay could be fatal.
