I write to you with a trembling heart and full eyes. In front of our eyes, the life of Kaloyan - a fighting, good and decent man - turned completely upside down in just two weeks.

It all started with pain in his left chest. We visited the GP who immediately referred us for an X-ray. It turned out that there were two suspicious masses in the lung. A CT scan (scanner) followed which revealed the alarming truth - tumour masses measuring 12mm and 24mm.

We were referred for more extensive investigations at the Kaspela University Hospital - Kaspela. Plovdiv. There we heard the worst - malignant neoplasm of the lung.

Our world collapsed. But we did not give up.

We contacted a leading hospital in Turkey, where we were immediately advised to travel urgently for further tests and immediate treatment. The specialists inspired hope - there was a chance that Kaloyan could be saved.

But that hope comes at a price - and it is prohibitive for our family. The funds needed for the treatment, research and stay abroad exceed anything we can provide.
